Miss fix it

Elena loves to help her dad fix things. Most of the time she just looses Mikes tools, but it is so sweet we let her get involved as much as possible. Today, she helped me vacuum, but I noticed the stuff that disappeared from off the floor was not making it into the removable canister. Hmmm. Upon investigating I found an entire screw driver in the hose of the vacuum. At first I considered whether or not I vacuumed it up. I'm bad at sucking large object up,but not that bad. Apparently, Elena contributed more to fixing the vacuum then we realized... I will miss this age so much. So sweet and so funny.

Scuba

On Friday, Mike and I were able to go scuba diving at a local scuba shop. It was tons of fun. It was 12 dollars for an hour of scuba diving. Mike thought that it would be a lot more natural than it was to breathe under water. It took him about 5 minutes before he felt completely comfortable under the water. He loved it, but then again the ocean is his second love. He can't wait to get certified, so he can go swimming with the sharks. I had to fight the urge to panic the first time I went under the water. Like Mike, I had a lot of fun. It was almost dream like. I was under the water for 40 minutes. I was sad that it was only in a pool. It would have been hard to come up had we been looking at Amphiprion percula or O. briareus. It was a great experience and we hope to get certified shortly.

Easter

Easter rocked this year. It is way more fun with kids. Elena decorated eggs with some friends. We organized a big egg hunt for members of the ward. We hid over 250 eggs; 200 of which were hid in Elena's basket. Mike got bored hiding eggs, so he thought of bad places to hide eggs. His favorite idea was to hide an egg under a rock, so when a kid pulled the egg out the rock would fall on his/her hand. Luckily, he didn't do it. Natalie had a good one as well. She wants to paint raw eggs and watch kids crack them open. The egg hunt turned out really well. There were about 20 kids. There is just something exciting about watching 20 kids running from side to side searching for the eggs. It was a great Saturday. Elena woke up about 7:15 on Sunday and meandered out to the front room. As soon as she saw the basket, she ran over to it and ripped open her candy. She is currently on her second sugar high. We also got her a book on Jesus, which she likes. On her second sugar high she started gnawing on the corner of the book.
